Wine–growing and –culture has great traditions in our family. My great-grandfather was the vine-dresser of the local Eszterházy-dynasty right until 1945. Then he purchased a small vineyard where he continued wine-growing. He followed the tradition of the great folk vintages and received many a tourists and famous people in Szentkirályi-villa in Badacsony. His most famous guest was Imre Nagy, prime minister of Hungary during the Revolution and War of Independence of 1956, who spent his last peaceful evening here at the vintage on 22^nd October. Today there is a tablet on the wall of the house cherishing the memory of this event.

The wine estate on 10 hectares of one of Hungary’s most noted wine-districts beneath Badacsony hill and the marvellous coast of Lake Balaton is still a family business. It is the humidity caused by the closeness of the lake and the detritus given by the basalt stones of the hill which make it possible for us to combine our old family traditions with the power of nature in order to live up to our guests expectations. Our variety of grapes is the following:  Welschriesling, Pinot Gris, Muscat Ottonel,  Chardonnay, Helicon Cuvée and Kéknyelű. After previous reservation our guests can also take part in a wine-tasting at the wine-house or at Szentkirályi-villa in Badacsony.

The wine-house is expanding more and more: Fertályos Cellar was opened in 1999 while Sipos Guest-house in spring 2003, and thus became an important station of the Badacsony Wine-trail and wine-tourism in the area of the lake. In the tavern we provide wine-tasting for a maximum of 80 people where guests can also ask for special folk performances and cheese-presentation. The guest-house is available for 16 people.
